The unedited, unredacted “Epstein Files” obviously have some level of importance, and undoubtedly contain information about some political and celebrity figures. Beyond that, the “Epstein files” – in all probability – contain the names of people of more than significant wealth, inasmuch as there were no $100 tickets on the Lolita Express.
Any name on those files would carry with it an assumption that those named were pedophiles and/or pederasts, a title appropriately unbecoming for any morally perverse individuals. Sexual perversity is not something created in this century or even this millennia. It has probably existed since human were first placed upon this planet. Morals are a concept created by humans, and since the beginning of humankind morals have shifted back and forth and laterally, also by humans. There was little moral guidance before the first bible was created in the 2nd century. There were however, cultural laws establishing the concepts of crime and punishment.
The first known written laws are attributed to King Ur-Nammu of Ur, dating back to around 2100-2050 BCE, known as the Code of Ur-Nammu. This code is considered the oldest surviving law code and was written in the Sumerian language on clay tablets.
The Code of Hammurabi is a Babylonian legal text composed during 1755–1750 BC. It is the longest, best-organized, and best-preserved legal text from the ancient Near East. Ancient clay tablets did not endure thousands of years of exposure, so those known laws are quite sketchy at best. Both were lengthy, and the known punishments varied from a fine of some kind, to torture and death.
But, all things must be judged in respect to their time. It would be foolish to expect the humanity of the BCE to be judged against todays standards. In the harshest of times, the demonstration of unsatisfactory human behaviors have depended upon harsh consequences to correct such errant behaviors within the edicts of that society.
Human beings, according to most religions espousing the thoughts and words of a “Supreme Being”, were designed to be imperfect, and those imperfections are rampant among the monied elite. Those who have much, always seem to want more.. and exceeding moral taboos is one way of feeling god-like. Regardless of any reason, sexual moral turpitude is an unacceptable behavior, and those engaged in it should be identified and punished today!
